Up for sale today is a 1957 Porsche 356 engine. According to my father the original car body is long gone, but he had saved the engine and used it to race in a Volkswagen Beetle back in the day. in 1975 the top end was rebuilt and it was "pickled" with clean oil, sealed up, and has not been run since. he had wanted to put it in a myers manx dune buggy, but it never happened. It still turns freely.

I am not sure about the status of the Thermostatic Oil Control Valve, I believe that it is shown in the fourth picture, but i have no idea if the internal parts are still there. i found very little information online about this part, mostly that it was only around for a short time. i had thoughts of using this engine in a vw bug, but at this point i would rather see it find its way back into a Porsche.
