    Valuation Analysts - Sr. Associates / Associates (Financial Reporting & Portfolio Valuation)

    Our client is an established business valuation firm and has earned a reputation as a leading provider of business valuation and security analysis, intangible asset and intellectual property appraisal and corporate finance. With offices located throughout the country, they are a full service firm offering a wide range of valuation and corporate finance services to both private and public companies nationwide.
    The Valuation Associate and Senior Associate roles will be involved in many aspects of financial valuation and advisory services to a variety of clientele. Specifically, they will report to the head of the firm's transaction and advisory practice, they will manage sell-side and buy-side M&A activities and fairness opinion services. In addition they will be responsible for advisory and valuation engagements to analyze potential liquidity options available to middle-market companies, effect corporate restructuring, create new classes of equity, maintain compliance with Employee Stock Ownership Plans and other ERISA plans, and effect intra-family ownership transfers, among others.
    The ideal candidate should have concentrated valuation experience and strong experience with fairness/solvency opinions. Direct current experience in ASC 350/805 (Goodwill Impairment) a must. As well as an advanced, working knowledge of Excel and Word. Strong oral and written communication skills and superior analytical capabilities are essential. Must have quant skills and be familiar with financial modeling. A degree in Finance is required. An MBA and/or CFA (or CFA candidate) are also preferred. A background in accounting coursework is important and relevant to the responsibilities of the position.
    Senior Level Associate Candidate will have 2-4 years experience.
    Associate Level Candidate will have 1-2 years experience.
    Must have Financial Reporting or Securities Valuation experience.

    Our client is a financial advisory firm with two openings for a Valuation Analyst/Senior Analyst in their Princeton, NJ or NYC location.
    Two openings for Valuation Analyst/Senior Analyst roles are within any of the below departments:
    1. Trust, Estates and Gift Tax
    2. Broker Dealer and M&A
    3. Litigation
    4. Financial Reporting
    Requirements:
    • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business Administration or another related field is required. Masters Degree and/or CFA Designation (or CFA candidate) preferred.
    • Minimum 2+ years valuation experience required. Dependent upon department of interest, must have applicable valuation background within that area (Trust, Estates and Gift Tax OR Mergers & Acquisitions OR Litigation Support OR Financial Reporting).
    • Background in generating financial valuation modeling utilizing standard methodology practices that include Discounted Cash Flows and Comparables.
    • Minimum two years working with trust and estates.
    • Working experience with Excel modeling required.
    • Excellent writing and presentation skills; experience preparing and reviewing valuation reports.
    • Strong technical skills including Word and PowerPoint skills

    Energy Analysts (NYC, NJ & Houston)

    Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for the evaluation of client, competitors, industry, and capital markets, including market multiples, comparable ratios, and credit spreads.
    • Document all relevant data obtained through client interviews.
    • Generate financial models for discounted cash flow, guideline market multiple, market transaction, fixed income and option valuations.
    • Perform valuations on companies and their securities across a wide range of subsectors within the energy sector. Sectors include, but not limited to, oil and gas exploration and production, oil and gas midstream, oil and gas downstream, MLPs, cogeneration, renewable energy, etc., using relevant qualitative information gathered and through the application of proprietary quantitative valuation models.
    • Prepare formal client reports.

    Requirements:
    • Bachelors Degree in finance, accounting or related field. Masters Degree and a CFA/CPA designation preferred.
    • Minimum three to ten years of relevant energy-focused finance experience with specific focus in the oil and gas sector.
    • Background with energy credit analysis, energy equity research, or energy investment banking -- preferred.
    • Excellent Excel skills. .
    • Strong oral and written communication skills and superior analytical abilities.
    • Self starter and ability to master new tasks quickly.
    • Ability to work on multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and handle dynamic, time-sensitive engagements in a team setting.
    • Strong work ethic and ability to work extended flexible hours to meet critical due dates.
